On the 24th October 2019, CMT hosted a Butchery Meat Industry Workshop, with speakers from AHDB (Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board).The speakers presented on a variety of topics includng Meat Science, and Principles of Religious Slaughter. This day is one of the many opportunities available at Crosby for our butchery apprentices. We were joined by 17 apprentices from a variety of employers including; Aubrey Allen, Walter Smith Fine Foods, Provenance Village Foods, Clive’s of Copthorne and Stanedge Grange Farm.
Our butchery trainer Chris Riley, who hosted the day commented “We brought together representatives of businesses across the country to engage in this special event. We have had some great feedback from apprentices who all took away ideas to implement into their business. It was great to see the sector come together to discuss the rapidly changing industry. Looking forward to offering these events for future cohorts within”.
