I really enjoyed my apprenticeship and had such a great time learning and working with Tara and Chris. They were always so easy to get hold of and would always get back to me if they were busy. I loved the Meat Science day at the office in Wolverhampton, I learnt so much and still to this day can tell customers about how hip suspension affects the meat quality! It has given me so much confidence in sharing my knowledge with colleagues and customers and has given me the chance to learn so much more than I expected to!

What do our Learners have to say?
Having done my level 2 butchery apprenticeship with Crosby Training I was very keen to do my level 3 butchery apprenticeship with them.
The level 3 apprenticeship is much more theory-based which is quite challenging, but my tutor (Kevin) is always there whether in person or on a zoom meetings to answer any problems that might have occurred.
On my level 2 I had the opportunity to go the residential in Snowdonia. This was a great opportunity to meet other apprentices from different parts of the country and speak to them about what was going on within the industry. This has opened up my eyes to where I can go within the industry, and through the training I had from Crosby I have be given the opportunity to represent Great Britain in the World Butchery Challenge Competition over in the United States of America.
"[what did you get most value from in your programme?] Lots! I instantly get to putting learning into practice which to me is the most important thing. I enjoyed the workshops and webinars to learn about L&D in other businesses. I feel the apprenticeship will open doors with my current employer, but also other L&D avenues should I choose to work somewhere else."
I find that the workshops are really useful as this was something I was looking for when choosing a potential provider - I am not a fan of distance learning. It also allows you to meet other learners from other companies to learn from their experiences. I also really liked the idea of the Residential in Snowdonia; this is certainly a USP for Crosby and found this to be a great networking opportunity due to the groups being a mix of differing levels and disciplines (HR). Completing this course is part of my succession planning and on completion should aid my development in my career and gain a promotion
Workshops have been beneficial in seeing other organisations and how HR is different in each of them e.g. business sector, organisation size. The networking is great, and I hope to keep in touch with my cohort in the future. Also, the residential was great fun, challenging and informative. I feel that the workshops and assignments have required me to research and learn new things. I have been able to implement my findings to my company in different areas and feel more confident in answering queries and helping support employees and management. I hope that by the end of my apprenticeship, I am knowledgeable and confident enough to continuously improve HR within my company.
I am really enjoying the workshops as it is a really helpful way of learning. Workshops are also beneficial as you get to meet many others from different industries, and you get to learn how things differ in each workplace which is really interesting. I also enjoy my Catchups with my tutor (Carolyn). We have a great bond and she really does help should I ever have any questions or concerns.
